The KNK Youth Foundation was born from a shared calling to uplift the children of Nicaragua, one rooted in personal experience, genuine connection, and an unwavering belief in giving back.
Our Co-Founder, Karen Galeano, was born and raised in Nicaragua before relocating to the United States at the age of 14. In 2019, she began returning to her homeland with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide toys, school supplies, and months’ worth of non-perishable goods to children in need. Through these trips, she formed meaningful partnerships with local churches in the provinces where she grew up. What started as an innate desire to serve her community soon evolved into an annual tradition, one she felt deeply compelled to continue and expand. Karen dreamed of reaching more youth and widening the impact of her efforts.
In 2022, destiny introduced her to our Co-Founder, Kaleigh Williamson. Kaleigh had recently visited Nicaragua herself, forming heartfelt relationships with local families and witnessing firsthand the challenges these communities face. Returning home with a newfound understanding and a sense of responsibility, she knew she wanted to help, she just didn’t yet know how.
Their meeting was instant synergy. Karen’s lifelong connection to Nicaragua and her established local relationships paired seamlessly with Kaleigh’s compassion, fresh perspective, and determination to create change. Together, they realized they could be the perfect team to bring something bigger to life. With both founders already successful in their own entrepreneurial journeys and united by a shared vision of service, they created the KNK Youth Foundation. Their mission is driven by empathy, purpose, and a deep desire to uplift children who deserve hope, opportunity, and support.
What began as individual acts of kindness has transformed into a powerful partnership. And through KNK Youth Foundation, Karen and Kaleigh continue to expand their impact one community, one family, and one child at a time.
