Project Care is an umbrella service project by youth leaders from the KNK Youth Foundation Youth Chapter in partnership with Atascocita High School and the Humble ISD Education Foundation. We are currently in the process of securing two new partnerships with Transformation Outreach Center and Family First E.R. Project Care was created by Atascocita High School students with the purpose and intent to serve not just Atascocita High School students in need, but with the hopes of Humble ISD as a whole.
KNK Youth Foundation youth leaders coordinated with the at-risk counselors and administration team to kick off the 2nd annual KNK+A.H.S. donation drive in order to gather resources for the first ever A.H.S. student supply shelf. This shelf will allow every A.H.S. student to have access to school supplies, hygiene supplies, and co-ed clothing items depending on the season. In order to make this work we will host donation drives on and off campus as well as reach out to businesses in the community to hopefully form a partnership.
KNK youth leaders will work with outside organizations and businesses whilst coordinating with school administrators to allocate approved non-perishable food items for at-risk students in need of food, or any student referred by teachers.
The Atascocita Student Community Corps is a student run organization that was founded under Project Care. The purpose of the S.C.C. is to provide our students with the opportunity and resources to collaborate with team within the organization, other student organizations, and outside charities and nonprofits in order to create their own service projects and allocate resources for said projects, These projects include various types of community volunteer work, donation drives, and fundraisers. All of our members are advocates for student and youth involvement in community improvement and will do so by giving public speeches, and by generating positive and informational social media content. Our organization teaches our members to serve their community and learn professional and leadership traits all while having fun and using creativity. The student community corps will kickstart fundraisers, donation drives and volunteer events that will take place on campus by collaborating with teachers, students, administration, and outside organizations.
Our partners will work together to reach out to businesses within the Humble and Houston area that would be interested in advertising their business at a job fair that will take place at Atascocita High School. These businesses will educate students about their respective fields and offer temporary or permanent employment or internship roles with their organization. We want to be able to offer students enough resources to aid their transition into adulthood.
It is our goal to aid every child in need of help. However - to ensure our resources are going to make the most impact, teachers can submit a referral for students to at-risk counselors where they will be reviewed to see if they could benefit from Project Care Resources outside of the Student Supply Shelf. This system would allow counselors to gather data regarding possible increase or decrease in students in need of daily and educational resources.
We are seeking groups and organizations that would be interested in partnering with A.H.S. and the KNK Youth Foundation under project care. Under this partnership the organizations involved would collaborate with one another to request volunteers for volunteer events, plan and organize service projects such as donations drives and fundraisers, as well as come together in order to supply resources to project care.

Mrs. April Lamb, an A.H.S. Staff Relation Advisor for Project Care is a Homebound Teacher for Atascocita High School. Homebound students are individuals that are forced to receive schooling at home due to medical, physical, and psychological conditions that must be monitored full time. Our goal is to have the Homebound Teachers of each school that Project Care is housed in, to communicate with the parents of their Homebound Students and see what service and supplies/ resources they are lacking and are struggling to acquire, and allow Project Care to provide them. All homebound students would be assisted on a case by case basis and would receive services that work best for their individual needs. This would be a team effort between Mrs. Lamb, the parents of the homebound students, the school administrators and nurses, as well as our partners.
Project Care is implemented inside of Humble I.S.D. public schools by coordinating with school administrators and at risk counselors. Due to the caseloads that 'at risk' counselors and administrators deal with on a daily basis outside of Project Care, we recruit teachers to join Project Care as staff relations advisors, Their goal is to assist school admin in coordinating with our leaders in managing and approving projects, as well as advising.

The William Daniels Initiative, Formally named The Homebound Student Initiative, was named after a former A.H.S. Homebound student William Daniels. Every day he would smile and laugh his way through his battle and never forgot to make sure the people around him were loved and inspired to keep living and to keep giving. Because of this William can continue to help and inspire others in need. He touched the hearts of so many and will continue to fight for others.
